Announcement of the inclusion to the Green Fund “Natural Environment & Climate Neutrality 2024”
The ECOWAVE Social Cooperative Enterprise participates in the project “DiverWatch: Empowering scuba divers to monitor the impacts of climate change on coastal ecosystems”, officially commenced on September 1st, 2025. The project is implemented in partnership with the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh, through its Special Account for Research Funds (ELKE)) and the Ionian Environmental Foundation (IEF).
The project empowers citizens – scuba divers — via local diving centers — to play an active role in scientific research. These citizen scientists contribute by gathering essential data to track the effects of climate change and support the preservation of Greece’s fragile coastal ecosystems.
The “DiverWatch” project is fully funded by the Green Fund “Natural Environment & Climate Neutrality 2024” Funding Programme (Priority Axis 4: “Innovative Actions with Citizens”). The project has a total budget of €49,985.00.
